Formed in 1997 and currently operating as a division of the Bank of America Principal Investing Group, the primary provider and manager of private equity for Bank of America, Banc of America Capital Access Funds manages fund-of-funds focused on underserved markets in the United States.
Bank of America is one of the oldest private equity investors in the banking industry and, through Banc of America Capital Access Funds, is one of the largest investors in underserved markets, including investments in funds targeting:
- Companies owned or managed by, or targeted to, women or ethnic minorities;
- Companies located in, or employing residents of, low- and moderate-income areas; and
- Companies located in areas—urban or rural—with limited access to investment capital.
Banc of America Capital Access Funds is well positioned to seek out a diverse set of investment opportunities. In particular, we look for opportunities that can capitalize on rapidly growing or consolidating markets or that take advantage of leadership positions in more mature segments of underserved markets.
Our portfolio encompasses a broad range of industries, including media and entertainment, consumer products and retail, manufacturing and distribution, technology and telecom, business and financial services, and healthcare.
We strive to create profitable, long-term relationships with our investors by targeting underserved markets opportunities that achieve sustainable market returns.
